The secret is out

Afew nights ago I watched the movie "The Cove" It was a very emotional movie for me because it's a documentary about the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. At the beginning I didn't want to watch it because I knew how hard it was going to be for me to see these wonderful creatures being killed, but even though I teared up alot during this movie, I loved it! I loved that someone was trying to do something about this, someone was trying to stop this slaughter from happening, someone was trying to show the world what was really happening in Japan. Ric O'Barry helped me understand a little more about dolphins. He is using this film to spread a message to the world. Dolphins are smart and very beautiful whales. I admire them and adore them and I feel the need to doing something. I don't know what it is yet, and it may not be as big as what O'Barry did but I need to help them. Every September 23, 000 dolphins die at the cove. The fishermen in Japan pick the dolphins they think are going to sell to aquariums around the world, looking for the perfect "Flipper" , while the ones that don't make the cut are herded into a hidden cove where they are netted and killed with spears and knives over the side of small fishing boats. Then they sell dolphin meat to the community and the aquariums in Japan. This movie made me think of the importance of the message. Now that the movie is out, everybody can see it, but how many of us will do something? How many of us care enough to stop this? We can all start somewhere : http://www.takepart.com/thecove
